Day 11 - School day + Croquet
Day 11
25/7/2025
St. Lawrence College → Ramsgate Croquet Club
Today was a sunny day. The sun was shining, but it wasn't too hot.
In our English lesson, Miss Cheri and Mr. David taught us a fun writing relay game to practice descriptive sentences. Each student wrote one sentence and then passed the paper to another student. By the end, we had created some wonderfully creative stories together! The activity was both entertaining and helpful for learning how to add vivid details to our writing.
In the afternoon, we walked to Ramsgate Croquet Club. It was our first time trying this classic British sport! First, we split into groups of two and competed against each other. Using mallets, we tried to knock the balls through the hoops, but it was harder than it looked! After playing, we took a break and enjoyed some biscuits while watching the others. We also organized a competition to determine the winners. In the end, Kelly and Zoe won, and Lauren was named the best player—they each received a fountain pen as a prize. Even though winning was tough, we all had a great time because the game was relaxing and satisfying.
After croquet, we took a leisurely stroll along West Cliff where we met Jerry, a host family's dog. Though 14 years old, his fur remained silky and shiny. This friendly, energetic little dog brought us so much joy as we played with him. It was the perfect ending to what had been a truly wonderful and fulfilling day.
