Day 12 - London

Day 12

26/7/2025

Ramsgate → London

We spent a cloudy but delightful weekend day in London. During the two-hour train ride, we read books, listened to music, and slept.

When we arrived in London, our first stop was the Graffiti Tunnel. It was full of amazing oil paintings that surprised us - they were really well done! We took lots of photos there.

Next we saw Big Ben. Mr David told us it's now called Elizabeth Tower and that it chimes every 15 minutes. There were many street musicians playing near Big Ben. As we walked to Trafalgar Square, we passed Westminster Abbey. We ate our packed lunch at the square, where many people were singing and dancing. After that, we went to Buckingham Palace where the King lives. The palace looked magnificent, and we got to see the British guards - it was both exciting and delightful!

Later, we visited Green Park and Hyde Park. We saw squirrels running around, London planes (those big trees with patchy bark), and horse chestnut trees. It was our first time seeing these things, which made it really interesting!

After walking for nearly seven hours—about 25,000 steps—we were completely exhausted by day's end. We finally returned to Ramsgate around 7:45 pm. Time for a well-deserved rest!
