Day 8 - School day + Fencing & Lawn bowling

Day 8

22/7/2025

St. Lawrence College → Fencing & Lawn bowling

The sun shone brightly—another new day began. Today, it didn’t rain much in the morning. We ate delicious toast and cereal for breakfast.

In class, we had a lively speaking activity about creating commercials. It was both fun and exciting—we absolutely loved it!

After class, we walked to a sports center and played fencing. The fencing teachers explained how to fence and the different parts of the fencing sword. Later, we competed with each other. We realized that fencing teaches us to respect one another, as well as the history behind the sport. It was thrilling!

After fencing, we went to the Ramsgate Bowling Club near the Royal Esplanade to play bowls—a traditional British sport. Bowls, also known as lawn bowls or lawn bowling, is a game in which players roll their balls as close as possible to a smaller target ball, known as a jack or kitty. Unfortunately, right in the middle of bowling, it started to rain! We couldn't play for long, but we still had a great time with our friends. Though our time was limited, laughing and playing with friends made it unforgettable. Bowling isn’t just fun—it sharpens teamwork and precision, so we’d highly recommend it.

We ended the day with yummy spaghetti and happy memories from today’s sports activities!
